What The NFL Playoffs Have Told Us So Far

Published by phatcorndog at 12:12 pm under fantasy football Edit This

1) Darren Sproles will be a hot commodity in terms of a handcuff in next year’s draft.  With LT getting yet another nagging injury, it’s clear his body is starting to show the wear and tear, even if LT himself says that age is not a factor.  Sproles is explosive, and if your league rewards for return yardage and scores, he could be even more valuable.

2) It won’t happen next year, but I’m especially interested to see what kind of year D’Sean Jackson will have in his third season (2010).  Much like Sproles, his prowess in the return game makes him more valuable if applicable, but I feel Jackson is just scratching the surface of his potential.

3) If I’ve got either the number 2 or number 3 pick in next year’s draft leagues, I’m seriously considering Michael Turner.  The guy is just a flat out beast, especially in the red zone.  I’m more sold on him succeeding again in 2009 than say a Deangelo Williams.

4) Continuing with the Falcons, I think Matt Ryan to Roddy White is the next Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison.  These guys have developed a special relationship on the field since Day 1, and it’s going only get better from here on out considering both guys are still very young and improving.

5) There is no way I touch Joseph Addai in Round 1 next year.  Just way too risky.

6) If I need a wide receiver in next year’s draft (say beginning of Round 2), I’m sure the first two off the board should be Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald.  With the number of times both see targets due to the way the Cards run their offense, they should both be poised to be no worse than top 5 WRs again next year.

7) And speaking of the Cards: keep an eye on what happens to Edge next year.  Tim Hightower shouldn’t be overvalued next year even if he is the starter simply because he doesn’t get enough carries in their current scheme.
